Amy + Travis / An Old Florida Backyard Wedding Celebration
I am just now able to step back and a take a look at the whirl-wind summer behind me that included a two week trip to Peru (where I toured the Peruvian countryside with my little sis before moving her back to the states after her 2 1/2 year adventure in South America), a week long missions trip to La MisiĆ³n, Mexico and a total of four weddings spanning from a backyard, old Florida exchange of vows beneath the oaks to a downtown Raleigh designerly celebration complete with a mini-parade down Fayetteville Street. I got to spend one of the biggest days of their lives with four sets of gorgeous brides and grooms. And as I comb through the collections of rich images captured on those days I can't help but celebrate the diversity of God's creation and the His perfect gift of love. I am so giddy about love stories and I am definitely looking forward to my upcoming weddings this fall while I can't wait to share with you these stories I got to tell this summer.
We started things off with the nuptials of Amy and Travis right about the same time the crazy Florida summertime weather started to ramp up with its fickleness. I was all set to photograph the backyard celebration on a Saturday and was getting ready on a Friday to head over to check things out at the rehearsal. I like to see how things were going to work the next day, get some creative ideas, and introduce myself to the wedding party and family (as I normally do the day before a wedding). And then I got a call. Change of plans. Amy and Travis had decided, if it worked with their photographer's schedule, to turn their Friday night rehearsal into a dress rehearsal (a.k.a. - the-real-deal-wedding!). They would get married beneath the trees on Friday night surrounded by their closest friends and family, when the weather seemed much more cooperative. And then they would go ahead and move Saturday's ceremony to their church down the road to protect the hoards of guests from the inevitable rain that was on it's way. Talk about some crazy decisions to have to be making in the midst of the most emotional time of your life. Amy and Travis handled it beautifully and for me, well it was just icing on the cake that I got to photograph not one, but two weddings, celebrating the lovely union of a gorgeous bride and groom twice!
You can find out more about Amy and Travis' story in my engagement session post I did for the two just before their wedding day by clicking here.
And now for the two-day marriage celebration of a truly delightful pair...

New york wedding location is good to dance and has open floor. They are providing good DJ system for the guests so that they can enjoy well.
