Allison & Travis' Wedding

Early last year I spent an afternoon helping my dear friend Lauren Waugh letterpress beautifully designed invitations for what looked like a fabulous wedding taking place in the spring. Come to find out Lauren's friend's Allison and Travis were searching for a wedding photographer and, well... the shoe fit! Allison and I had several long distance conversations (she was planning her Statesville, NC wedding from California), and the more we talked the more and more excited I got about the day.

I grabbed my favorite photo-buddy Pam Brennan and we headed out to Statesville last Saturday. The wedding was so much fun and despite the threat of rain it held off until just as the reception was ending. The whole day turned out beautiful! My favorite things about weddings are all those little details that make the day uniquely representative of the bride and groom. From a oddly funny card, a sapphire ring, an "Ace" of a cake, a beautifully rusting bicycle filled with flowers to the uncorking of a bottle of champagne that was given to Allison's parents the day she was born, the entire day was filled with little mementos of their lives up to this day. These pictures now mark the beginning of a new collection from this day forward.
